There have been numerous rumors that the Big Ten is interested in elevating Hockey to a league sport for the TV revenues that could be associated with it. Iowa State has a long tradition of success in club hockey (for example, the Cyclones placed #2 in last season's ACHA Nationals) and the facilities necessary to lend support to such a move by the league.
